DIFFICULT WEEKEND FOR RMU VR46 RIDERS ACADEMY

Reggio Emilia, 08 September 2020 – The third round of the 2020 Italian CIV Speed Championship ended yesterday at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, where the fourth and fifth rounds of the competition took place. A difficult weekend for RMU riders with crashes in the first round of races.

Race 1

Moto 3

The weekend started positively for Elia Bartolini and Matteo Boncinelli with good timings recorded in qualifying, where they respectively obtained the sixth and tenth position on the grid, improving the results of the previous season. However, the intense work on the setting of the bikes did not allow RMU to align with the leading group, which lowered the times of 2019 by almost 2.00 seconds. Fall for both riders while they were in the group of pursuers. On lap 10, an unavoidable contact for Boncinelli ended his race early. Slide for Bartolini on the eleventh lap. Riders started again, Bartolini finished in sixteenth position and Boncinelli in eighteenth.

PreMoto 3

Similar fate for Manuel Margarito in PreMoto 3. The rider started from the last rows due to difficult qualifying. Nonetheless, he made a good recovery in the race, fighting for fifth position. A crash on lap 10 interrupted his fight for the points early.

Race 2

Moto 3

On Sunday, the group of five leading riders immediately gained an advantage over their rivals. Despite a long second lap, Elia Bartolini managed to recover from thirteenth position and finish the race in sixth place. Boncinelli stayed for the entire duration of the race between the sixth and eighth position, with which he finished the race.

PreMoto 3

Bad day for Manuel Margarito in Race 2, with a crash on the last lap while he was in ninth position. He finished the race in nineteenth place.

Alessandro Ruozi – Team Manager
“It was an intense weekend in which we have not been able to concretize the hard work done so far and to confirm the excellent results obtained in the last rounds. However, we are ready to recover in the last round in Vallelunga. In PreMoto 3 Margarito had a complicated weekend and was unable to express himself at his best.”
