PREVIEW – CIV ROUND 2, SKY Junior Team VR46 #RMU
THE SECOND ROUND OF CIV CHAMPIONSHIP WILL TAKE PLACE THIS WEEKEND AT MUGELLO. ELIA BARTOLINI IS READY TO REDEEM HIMSELF AFTER MISANO, LORENZO BARTALESI CONTINUES RECOVERY FROM INJURY, TOMORROW THE MEDICAL RESPONSE
Reggio Emilia, 24 April 2019 – One month after the first round of 2019 Italian Speed Championship, we are back on track with the double date of 27 and 28 April at the Mugello Circuit. Sky Junior Team VR46 #RMU participates in CIV Moto 3 with riders Elia Bartolini and Lorenzo Bartalesi.
Riders are back from a first unfortunate round, that of the Misano World Circuit. Bartolini finished the races with two slips, despite the excellent timings and the fight for the first position. Bartalesi, on the other hand, was victim of a contact with another rider in Qualifying 2 and was unable to compete. The accident forced him to a tibia operation, successfully performed on April 2. He is following a very tight rehabilitation process, on Thursday the doctors will tell if he can get back on track.
In preparation for the second round, the team conducted a day of testing at Mugello with Elia Bartolini. Sensations from the rider and time trials were very good.
The Mugello Circuit program includes three free practice sessions on Thursday 25. Friday 26 there will be further free practice in the morning and Qualifying 1, scheduled at 4.25pm. Qualifying 2 will take place on Saturday 27 at 10am, and then Race 1 will be at 1.3pm. Sunday 28 Race 2 is scheduled at 2.45pm.
Ramona Gattamelati – Team Coordinator
“We are going to Mugello with the awareness of a great potential, confirmed by Bartolini in the first round of CIV. The two slips have certainly conditioned the result, but not the excellent work done by the team and the rider. On Thursday, we will know if the doctors will declare Lorenzo eligible for the second round; Bartalesi is facing a record recovery and the desire to get back on the bike is strong. We are waiting for him. Last week we performed a test at Mugello with Elia Bartolini. Despite the wet track in the morning and the cold of the afternoon, the sensations and times were positive and encouraging”.
